… until the Oxford Half-Marathon!
It’s been a quiet summer of blogging but a busy one with everything else going on! The summer has been extremely busy with a holiday to Kos (and a trainer ban whilst there!), wisdom tooth removal and other bits and pieces. Bar 4-weeks off I’ve been sticking to a now different training plan in preperation for the half-marathon on Sunday 11th October.
The plan can be found on the following website and I’ve found it a good gradual build up www.vitalityrunseries.com/training/2015/6/beginners-10-week-half-marathon. I’ve noticed a huge improvement with my 5k’s and I seem to be doing better and better on each run. I’m getting less red-faced and much faster with my PB now until 30 minutes at 29.54.
As well as this in the past few weeks I’ve completed my first rainy runs and, though not ideal, they weren’t half as bad as I imagined – let’s just hope for dry half-marathon day conditions!
My fundraising activity is still on-going and, though slow at the moment, I have a few things planned over the next few weeks.
On Sunday 16th August, we arose very early (6am) and held a car boot sale in the local village of Saddington to help raise funds.
I’ve also received raffle prizes from the following places and a local pub The Red Lion in Thornby, Northamptonshire are donating the proceedings from their weekly meat raffle during September to me.
My actual raffle is taking place in the next few weeks so I’ll be selling tickets. If anybody reading would like to buy any raffle tickets or sell them locally then just give me a shout. Any support is very much appreciated!
