As the end of the year approaches and just over four months until the marathon I thought it would be good to get another short post in. I’ve gone with the asics sub-5.00 training plan (11.27 minute mile) combined with beginners training to help me achieve the target of 26.2 miles! The plan starts on 4th January so I’ve spent the past few weeks doing some light running in preparation.
To get me going and push me through to cold, winter months I’ve joined a local running club – Desborough RAPID. Everybody has been really friendly and I’m pushing myself much more than I would on my own, especially when it comes to hills!
On the fundraising front at this side of Christmas I’m at £1,065.14. Thank you to everybody who has donated I never expected to be at this stage this early on and think it puts me well ahead for next year. I’ve recently held a raffle draw at a ladies night and sold all of the leftover cakes from the coffee morning at work. My local paper have also done a piece on my marathon and training which you can view online here – http://www.harboroughmail.co.uk/news/mail-news/running-in-memory-of-young-cousin-who-was-killed-by-speeding-motorist-1-7129823.
