I can’t believe that its now just 9 weeks to go! Training is in full swing, I’m getting the miles up and finally feel like I’m getting used to it.
Week 6
Monday – rest
Tuesday – Running club and intervals, uphill sprints. They tipped me over the edge but managed a couple – 3.47 in 35.3.
Wednesday – Pilates, enjoyed and felt as though I really need it this evening.
Thursday – 5.80 miles in an hour and 6 mins with running club. My calf wasn’t too good, probably down to the uphill sprints earlier in the week, so I took a slow one, once I warmed up though felt like I could go on and certainty wasn’t expecting to go the distance that I did.
Friday – rest
Saturday – Parkrun and first run in the new trainers. Very comfy and though not a PB I was the closest I’ve been to it in 30.56.
Sunday – Longrun Sunday I completed a half marathon distance in 13.1 miles. I took some jelly babies and Lucozade with me to help me though and it seemed to work. I’m nervous to try gels and wanted to see how I get on without them for the time being.
Miles – 25.49
Time – 4.43.57
Week 7
Monday – rest
Tuesday – 4.84 miles in 48.32 with running club. The session involved jogs, sprints, start jumps, lunges and tuck jumps. I struggled a little as my legs and calves were heavy from the weekend.
Wednesday – as its half term Pilates wasn’t on so I took advantage with an extra rest day.
Thursday – I’ve noticed a niggle in my thigh when walking so I opted for a gym session this evening (and I was seeing friends!). Ran a slow mile on the treadmill then 4 miles on the bike, which seemed to ease the pain a little.
Friday – rest
Saturday – Market Harborough Parkrun which I found tough this week. Completed in 32.04, not great but it got me out of bed!
Sunday – 10 miles. A group from running club met along the Brampton Valley Way to complete various distances. I hit my plans target with 10 and didn’t feel too bad afterwards!
Miles – 19.08
Time – 3.25.1
Few miles down this week but I’m pleased with my progress and how its starting to feel easier.
Fundraising
My fundraising is going brilliant at the moment and I currently stand at 71% towards my target. The total so far is: £2,139.62
The Red Lion in Thornby (www.redlionthornby.co.uk) have raised a brilliant £362 during their meat raffle.
In addition to this, I’m also holding a raffle (see the below post) and have a few events coming up over the first week of March.
For anybody who lives locally we’re holding a pub quiz at The Black Horse in Foxton on Tuesday 8th March, food will be available from 6pm and the quiz starts at 8pm.
