Run Report: Bognor Regis parkrun

The morning after the night before (that included approx. 10 hours drinking on a hen-do), I made it out of bed for Bognor Regis parkrun (luckily only a two-minute walk from where I was staying and a few minutes from the coast).

There were a first timers at the event so we stood around for the briefing – essentially four loops around a small park. I didn’t mind so much and was quite looking forward to it, knowing where the end point was and counting down the loops until the end.

It was a lovely park and an even lovelier morning. Though I felt a little ropey the air coming in from the sea really helped. Bognor parkrun was full of friendly volunteers offering support along the way. The course was SO flat, a few watch your feet areas with a kerb and across the miniature railway track. Overall, and quite unlike me, I enjoyed the loops more than I thought. It might have been because they felt short or maybe because they gave me a focus with various landmarks on the way.

I finished the parkrun in 27.05, my second fastest parkrun time of the year (by 2 seconds), not bad on a hangover!

Thanks to all the volunteers for putting on such a lovely parkrun!

It was that flat, which makes me unsure if I believe this website which puts it in 106th flattest parkrun place – https://jegmar.com/stats-hq/fastest-races/parkrun/.
